Joy of Sound is an inclusive music and arts project that works to enable everybody, regardless of their abilities and dexterity, to enjoy taking part in music making and other participatory arts activities. Our unique award-winning workshops create a joyful space for individual creativity and equal participation. We promote non-verbal communication, co-learning and co-creation, building self-confidence and resilience for disabled players, their support networks and communities. JOS provides weekly sessions in the South East UK. We run outreach workshops in schools, hospitals and day centres, special events and festivals, and work internationally. With more than ten years development, we can offer specialist training in inclusive techniques including group work and enabling individuals, different ways of using instruments and new approaches to music making. We also provide accessible instruments - solutions range from modifications to common instruments, through to made to measure instruments co-designed by individual players.
