This Water Spring Bowl is a rediscovery of an ancient Chinese instrument, created by a professional German bell founder.
The bowl is filled with water and the handles are rubbed with clean wet hands.
To start the waves rub vigorously then continue more gently.
Feel the resulting vibrations that create sparkling waves on the surface of the water which increase until fountains appear.
The vibration can make the water jump in four, six or eight fountains, each of them with a different overtone. Depending on the pitch, different geometric patterns can form on the surface of the water.
Experiment with different heights of water in the bowl.
Produces a very powerful, pervasive, meditative sound with strong vibrations in the hands.
