I have been involved with alternative therapies since the late 1970’s when I discovered the books of Shirley McClaine and heard about Denise Linn. This led me down an interesting path of adventure that I have been travelling ever since.
Each day brings me new knowledge and new adventures. My training has included Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Gestalt Therapy, Meditation, NLP, Tai’chi, Shiatsu, Reiki and Sound Therapy. I have also read a wealth of fascinating and insightful publications and audio tapes/cds by a fascinating bunch of individuals (the list is too long to put here!)
I am a Reiki Master and Sound Therapy Practitioner (BAST) I am a member of the Reiki Federation and the ICNM I now live and work in Sevenoaks in Kent. (Previous to that I spent over 30 years in Bromley in Kent and my first 20 in Newcastle-upon Tyne where I was born I moved to Bromley because my husband came south to do his teacher training at Goldsmiths College in New Cross )
Initially I was not impressed however after three years I did a complete about turn and now would no longer wish live up north!! My idea for a holiday therapy centre has been in my head since the late seventies but with three children to support and care for alongside a full time Career in Education and finance; as well as my involvement with a local residents association and founder member of the Bromley Co-op my dreams and aspirations for creating this were constantly placed on hold.
I also took part in the “Three Peaks challenge” { Ben Scarfell and Snowdon} in June 1996 to raise money for multiple sclerosis and climbed Mount Kenya in 2000 to raise funds for Guide dogs we also led blind individuals to the peak a fascinating and rewarding experience of a lifetime. Nevertheless I continued to investigate and study/train in the various alternative techniques listed above.
During my travels in Turkey I met my Turkish partners Tunc and Bahadir and we have now set about putting this idea of a sound centre into action and are providing the first workshops this year. We are hoping that this will become an internationally recognised centre/retreat where individuals can come to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the peace and tranquillity of Turkey with the added bonus of a sound workshop. We would be interested to hear from any individuals who would like to run sound workshops in Turkey (in 2014 and or 2115) as well as from those that would like to come and try our holidays.
